Dear Colleagues,

We are getting close to the launch of the first set of Data Warehouse reports in Power BI!  The new reports will be available to users beginning November 16th.  See our previous email for more information on the reports that will be available.

We have added a new section to the Data Warehouse website that provides an overview of Power BI and how it will be used.  Click here to check out that page if you haven’t already done so.

In order to start using the new reports in Power BI, there are two things you must do:

1. ENROLL IN  MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (MFA)

In order to access these new reports in Power BI, you  will need to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) if you haven’t already done so.  To enroll in MFA, visit Do the Two-Step: Enable MFA with Duo Today on the UC Santa Barbara Information Technology site.

2. REQUEST DATA ACCESS

The permissions for Power BI are separate from those being used for EZ Access and Hyperion.  Please use this Google Form to request data access.

The data access form includes automated approval workflows that route your request to the appropriate approver(s).

  • If you are asking for access at the department level, the form will be routed to the departmental approver for review and approval.
  • If you are asking for campus-wide access, the form will be routed to the departmental approver first to validate your request, then it will be routed to the campus-wide data owners for their review and approval.
